My name is Robby Fuggi, a self taught photographer born and raised on the island. Photography started for me as curiosity but quickly became something deeper a way of understanding the world around me and the moments most people pass by without noticing.
Since I picked up a camera at 12 years old, I’ve been fascinated by how light, emotion, and timing can completely change the meaning of a single moment. I’ve always been drawn to real life as it happens, unposed, unfiltered, and unpredictable. Over time, photography became less about taking pictures and more about seeing differently.
A major part of that perspective comes from where I’m from. I specialize in everything connected to the water and what lives within it. Growing up on the island, the ocean wasn’t something I visited, it was something that shaped my entire life. The tides, the weather, the movement of the shore, and the constant change of the coastline all became part of how I think and create. I’ve been surrounded by it since I was young, drawn to both its calm and its chaos.
That environment built the way I shoot today. I’m always chasing moments that feel alive, light hitting the water at the right time, movement that can’t be recreated, and scenes that exist for only a second before they’re gone. This place I am lucky to call home has always been where I feel most connected, and where my work feels most honest.
Photography is how I share my perspective. Each image is a reflection of my experiences, my environment, and the people and places that have shaped me. What started as a passion has turned into a lifelong pursuit, one that continues to push me, challenge me, and deepen my appreciation for the art of storytelling through a lens.
At its core, my work is simple: real moments, real places, real life seen the way I see it.
